A little bit about us . . . 

 

Butterfly Paddock believes that every child has the right to discover, explore, play and learn in the great outdoors.  We also believe that when children and young people are challenged, encouraged and their individuality is celebrated, like the butterfly, they will naturally develop, grow and transform.

 

Recent research has found that spending time in natural outdoor spaces raises self esteem and confidence, teaches new skills, improves both physical and mental health and helps to alleviate the stresses of daily life.

 

Despite the benefits of spending time in nature being widely recognised, many children and young people are not given the opportunity and encouragement to get out in the fresh air and really learn about their surroundings and themselves.  Butterfly Paddock wants to get kids enjoying their natural environment, resulting in a generation of happier, healthier individuals.

 

At Butterfly Paddock children are recognised for their many talents, each child is unique and being unique is encouraged.  Butterfly Paddock adopts a holistic approach which provides a solid platform for improving confidence, social skills and raising self esteem, we build on developing a positive mental attitude and assist in creating a positive attitude to learning.  All this along with developing new skills, improved physical health and a greater awareness and understanding of nature.

 

Butterfly Paddock is run by a qualified level 3 Forest School Leader and offers bespoke packages specifically designed to suit the needs of each group and the individuals within it.

 

Butterfly Paddock has it's own outdoor Forest School site to accommodate groups of different sizes.  Our easily accessible site is based in the fields of an equestrian center and is located in the Walsall area of the West Midlands, we have basic toilet facilities and a car park.  

 

If you are lucky enough to have a suitable outdoor area of your own Butterfly Paddock staff are happy to come and run sessions from your venue if you prefer.
